What is lead routing?

Lead routing is the practice of automatically sending each incoming lead to the correct destination — a person, team or system — based on rules such as intent, source, product or geography.

Finding a buyer question is only half the job. If it lands in a dashboard nobody opens, the lead is lost just as surely as if it was never found. Routing is what puts the signal where someone will act on it: the right Slack channel, the right Notion database, the right owner — with rules you set once and forget, and with status that syncs back so nobody duplicates the work. Routing is also where most lead tools quietly fail: they find the signal and then leave it somewhere your team has to remember to visit, whereas a rule that delivers to Slack or Notion removes that last human dependency entirely.

Key characteristics

Signals reach a human

Leads go to the tools your team already monitors rather than a separate inbox that needs its own habit.

Rules by source and intent

Different channels, videos or commenters can route to different destinations with different urgency.

Prevents duplicate work

Mark contacted syncs status back, so two people never chase the same lead or send conflicting answers.

Noise stays out

Mute, throttle and digest policies apply before anything is routed, which keeps the destination channel usable.

FAQ

Where can YouTube comment leads be routed?

Slack for speed, Notion for pipeline tracking, Discord for community, or any generic webhook endpoint you already run.

Can different videos route to different places?

Yes. Routing rules can be scoped per channel, per video or per commenter, each with its own destination.

How do I avoid double replies?

Mark contacted syncs status back to the shared inbox, so the whole team can see what has already been handled.
